I grew up in Baytown, Texas in the Gulf Coast region. After graduating from high school I learned to work hard with my dad as a pipe fitter in the oil refineries. After graduating from Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nanotechnology I entered the semiconductor industry as an intern at University of Texas in Austin. I worked my way up from an operator to an equipment technician at TowerJazz Semiconductors.
At IM Flash, I am a Dry Etch Equipment Tech. I am responsible for keeping the LAM dry etchers up and running by performing preventative maintenance and troubleshoot tool faults. The fab is very dynamic and there are always new problems to solve. I enjoy the challenges of troubleshooting and feel a sense of accomplishment when I can return a downed tool to production.
IM Flash is very team oriented. We all are responsible to safely and efficiently perform our work for IM Flash to be firing on all cylinders. One of our four core values, teamwork, is a big part of the culture here. Teamwork is important and visible not only during work hours, but also during extracurricular activities.
My wife and I both play in the annual IM Flash softball league, even though she doesn’t work here. I enjoy playing softball, basketball, and going hiking. The mountains are close to where I live and work and there is so much to see and do. I love the beautiful scenery and the friendly people in Utah.
